AUSTRALIA'S TWO LEADING EMAIL SERVICES BLOCK OVER 1 MILLION EMAILS - SUCCESSFULLY COMBATING SOBIG.F VIRUS

Fastmail.FM and Aliencamel.com, two Internet email services founded in Melbourne have blocked millions of emails for it's users around the world that contain the SoBig.F virus, preventing the spread of this dangerous epidemic.

Both email services offer virus scanning and spam management for consumers, without the need for individuals having to buy and install software on their computers. Jeremy Howard, the CEO of Fastmail.FM said "we have blocked over one million e-mails containing the SoBig.F virus, preventing the infection of FastMail.FM customers, and limiting the global spread of the virus."

One of the reasons why this variant of SoBig spread so quickly is that it is using techniques from Spam emails where the subject line of emails are tempting recipients to open the email and thus launching the virus on their computers.

"With the emergence of email-borne viruses, having an email service that checks and blocks Spam and emails with viruses without having the email downloaded to a user's PC is a very important aspect of choosing an email provider. ISPs just don't offer this level of email service" said Sydney Low, co-founder of Aliencamel.com.

Both Fastmail.FM and Aliencamel.com are privately held companies headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. They serve Internet users around the world through email servers located on major Internet backbones in the USA. While the two companies are not related, both have chosen to provide high-value, enhanced email services to consumers and businesses, and are committed to helping users minimize Spam and email-borne viruses.
