Melbourne, Australia, 4 October, 2007 -- AlienCamel.com, a specialist email service provider released the results of a survey among their iPhone user-panel today. The survey respondents rated Spam filtering as the most important feature among a cluster of value added email features. 61% rated Spam filtering as 'really important' and 33% said they 'can't live without it' according to Sydney Low, AlienCamel's Director. "Since the iPhone does not have any anti-spam capability, the survey results validate our strategy to develop a customised version of our server-based anti-spam email service for Apple's iPhone. Our service allows iPhone users to keep spam email off their iPhone and deal with it using a patented quarantine email form." said Low.

Another significant insight from the survey is that 44% of iPhone users rated the ability to synchronize their email across multiple devices as a "can't live without it" feature. AlienCamel supports the IMAP protocol which means deletions and changes they make to their email using the iPhone are automatically carried across to their other computers.
Low adds "Our strategy is to make the best email service for iPhone users. The bundled email service for the iPhone doesn't allow a Mac or PC to connect to it via IMAP so its not useful for iPhone users wanting to sync their email across multiple devices. And Apple's dot mac email doesn't have a sophisticated spam filtering capability. This means there's a space for specialist email providers like us to fill".
AlienCamel is still accepting iPhone users in a user-panel program.
