Aliencamel is compatible with popular email software that handles HTML formatted emails like Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Becky! for PCs and Apple's Mac OS X Mail and Thunderbird for Apple Macintosh computers

Our email service is designed to work with the advanced IMAP email protocol, but it is also compatible with the older POP protocol. Our service is also accessible via standard web browsers.

After setting up (» how-to guides) your Aliencamel account using your favourite email software you will have an account on the aliencamel.com email server. You will see two special folders: Pending and Spam.

When a new email arrives for you, we inspect the email to determine whether the sender of the email is on your Whitelist or Blacklist.

Emails from senders on your Whitelist are delivered immediately to your Inbox. Emails from senders in your Blacklist are stored in your Spam folder.

All other emails are delivered into your Pending folder.

The important difference with our service is that emails in your Pending and Spam folders are not automatically downloaded onto your PC. They are on our mail server and will stay there until you choose to download them. This protects your PC from Spam that may contain viruses and malicious code that can damage your computer.
